Mental clinics, British on black violence, Band successfully sell over 1 million records, Killer bearsUm...I'm gonna be like, doing news reports or something...like a news show. I think I did this on MySpace before. Anyways, music news... "Chiodos Singer Taken to Mental Clinic" Lead singer of the band Chiodos Craig Owens attempted a drug overdose at his house in Michigan on Sunday and checked into an undisclosed mental health facility. According to Mike Shea, president of Alternative Press, he states that "Craig has always had trouble handling criticism towards the band, he's a really sensitive guy". In my opinion, alot of bands get criticism towards their band, and most of them didn't try to overdose. I don't know much about this guy or his band, he needs to take those criticisms and throw them out the door or in the trash or where ever he wants to throw them at...just not at some defenseless person. A post on his website said "so, after an attempted overdose early yesterday morning, i found myself awake in the emergency room around 8 - 12 hours later. however, don’t worry about me, i’m fine. i am being checked into a mental clinic beginning tomorrow at 8 am. i’d like to apologize to everyone at Power Chord Academy, for me not being able to make it to speak to all of the kids tomorrow in Chicago. i promise to make it up, the best that i can and hopefully will be able to reschedule the entire event.wish me luck, and let’s hope that i learn from this, and that i am able get out very soon. craig." ...Apparently, the Power Chord Academy is a rock and roll music camp for teen musicians, he was supposed to go there, but had a drug overdose...kind of a bad example there. Instead of having a singer from a up and coming 'punk, emo or whatever you wanna call it' type band, how about they get some older star...like Slash from Guns N' Roses or some other 60's/70's/80's band...they know more about drugs and they can handle it better. I'd rather meet Slash than some new band member whom I've never heard of. But, no hard feelings towards Craig, let's hope the best for him.
"My Chemical Romance to Cover Famous Folk Singer for Movie Soundtrack" After ending their Black Parade era (which was a good album, by the way) and releasing their live album "The Black Parade is Dead!", My Chemical Romance might be recording a song for the 2009 movie The Watchmen and it's rumored to be a cover of a famous folk singer. I seen the trailer of The Watchmen when going to the movies on Monday and it looks pretty good, I seen it before watching "The Dark Knight" which, is like, one of my favorite movies now. It's already broken 3 box-office records, it broke Spider-Man 3's record for highest single day tally and the highest weekend debut of all time, it also broke Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest's record for the highest weekend debut in July. And it beat those records in under one week!. That's amazing. It made over $200,000,000 already. Christain Bale did good on his part as Batman and especially Heath Ledger, he did great as The Joker. Anyways, My Chemical Romance experimented with their music before, I hope whatever they're doing next is good.
"Bloc Party Singer Allegedly Beaten and Racially Abused by Johnny Rotton and His Posse" Holy racist of a washed up British punk rocker Batman! Kele Okereke, good singer from the band Bloc Party got racially abused by Johnny Lyndon, better known as Johnny Rotton, the crazy old British rocker from the Sex Pistols. The incident took place on Saturday night at the Barcelona's Summercase Festival. The Sex Pistols were talking backstage with other British bands, many of whom witnessed the attack. Kele Okereke, a huge fan of Lydon approached him to ask if he would ever consider reforming one of his favourite bands, Public Image Ltd. The Sex Pistols singer became intimidating and aggressive while his entourage responded with a racist tirade including the statement, "your problem is your black attitude." Kele was then set upon by 3 members of Lydon's crew who punched him in the face and head as well as attacking people who tried to protect Kele from the assault including Yannis Philippakis from The Foals and Kaiser Chief's Ricky Wilson. The incident was broken up by security and was later reported to Spanish police. Kele also reported the incident to police in the U.K. after returning from Spain. According to Alternative Press, Lydon, known for his outrageous behavior, retaliated with this simple response: "I feel very sorry for a man that needs to lie about what was a perfect evening. Trouble was brought us, resulting in those causing the trouble being physically removed by festival security." There is no word on if Okereke will press charges against Lydon and his crew for the alleged racial remark and attack. In my opinion, Johnny Rotton was good, I listened to the Sex Pistol's music before. But now these days, all the Sex Pistols really do is criticize people and things and make themselves look like hypocrites. One time, while playing Guitar Hero 3, I watched the behind the scenes video of the Sex Pistols re-recording their song "Anarchy in the U.K." and I remember him saying that Guitar Hero is a good game, then at a Guitar Hero 3 launch show, to promote the game, when he was called to the stage to talk about the game, and he criticized it instead, then talked about other things he hated. He is becoming a hypocrite, I think it's because of all the drugs he's done in his life that screwed his brains up.
"Paramore Sell 'More' Than 1 Million Copies of RIOT!, Express Appreciation to Fans" In more cheerful news, Paramore's full-length album RIOT! has gone platinum, meaning that over 1 million people may all be coincidentally playing "Misery Business" in their cars at the very same time. The band has delivered a thank you speech on the Internet. "Platinum has always felt like an unreachable goal for us … so we have our fans to thank for making platinum happen. It's a dream come true. Thanks for always being there! Love you guys,"the band exclaimed on their official Web site. RIOT! was released in June 2007 and launched the singles "Misery Business", "Crushcrushcrush", and "That's What You Get" My friend Jayna, she's the one who made me a big fan of Paramore, last year when I told her that we're going to Warped Tour, she was listening to the band constantly, we went to see them at Warped last year, it was amazing. I bought the album and I love it. It's has to be one of the best albums of last year. (and still one of my current favorites) Paramore will be on tour all summer. You should go see them. Me and Jayna are trying to plan a way to go to their August 15 show in Philly.
And more great news about Paramore. "Play as Hayley Williams in Guitar Hero: World Tour" Do you wish you could be Hayley Williams? Guitar Hero: World Tour is letting that wish come true. It's revealed that Hayley Williams will be a playable character in the upcoming "Guitar Hero: World Tour" video game in October. "I ran around like a fool in motion capture gear so the Guitar Hero team could use my movements in the game. Seeing myself in the game is the weirdest, creepiest, coolest experience ever!" Williams stated during a recent press conference at Electronic Entertainment Expo, also known as E3. The popular music video game will be released in late October and Williams will be one of many playable characters in the game along with former Blink-182 and current +44 drummer Travis Barker according to IGN. Awesome, now I can be Hayley Williams...without me dying my hair and getting a sex change. This is probably gonna be one reason I might buy Guitar Hero: World Tour over Rock Band 2. Rock Band 2's coming out a little too early for me, and my original Rock Band drumset broke, the Guitar Hero: World Tour drumset looks more sturdy, because the drums aren't hanging on the edge without any structure like the Rock Band drums do. The drums that are coming with Rock Band 2 are almost the same thing. But there is gonna be a more realistic looking drumset for Rock Band 2, it's probably gonna be $300 though. But the cool thing is that it's also be used as an electric drumkit, so you can play it when you're playing the game or when you're not playing the game. Maybe I'll get it for Christmas. I'm not sure yet.
And one more report thingy... "Pack of Giant Bears Attack Miners, Eats Two of Them!" Terrified workers at a mining compound in one of Russia's most isolated regions are refusing to go to work after a pack of giant bears attacked and ate two of their colleagues.
Oh why didn't we listen!?
That's it for now...check back sometime for more report thingys... Bye! - Jordan
